Measuring duration with speech analyzer

Author  Cahill, Michael
Abstract

Many languages of the world have phonemic length in either vowels or consonants or both. In this article, I show how to use Speech Analyzer to physically measure length, give tips for the types of recordings needed for this, and just as importantly, how to interpret your measurements. A sample sound file is included.
