Linguistic Tree Constructor (Experimental)
Current version: 3.0.2, released October 23, 2008
Linguistic Tree Constructor (LTC) is a tool for drawing syntax trees. Its intended audience is field linguists who need to do analyis of their texts above word-level. It supports three "styles" of trees:
- "Generic" trees
- X-bar trees
- Role and Reference Grammar (RRG) trees
The user interacts with the tree in a point-and-click fashion. The program does no analysis on its own, but instead lets the user decide how the tree should be constructed. The program makes sure, however, that the tree stays a tree.
LTC supports both Unicode (UTF-8) and non-Unicode data, in both left-to-right and right-to-left languages.
LTC imports "straight text" as well as word-per-record SFM files.
