Gives complete presentation including step-by-step description of the process of launching Maori (New Zealand) children into reading.

 

Captures learning style of Maori children and their spirit by having them make books by using "organic" words that carry high emotional context, such as "sky rocket," "skeleton," and "jet." They write autobiographical stories from their own world.
