Summary

Discusses the philosophical nature of the bilingual education program in Peru by SIL in collaboration with the Peruvian Ministry of Education. Reports results of an experiment in bilingual education sponsored by the Peruvian government over a period of 25 years (1953 to 1978) [and continued to 1994]. Includes details of the program as well as impressions and recommendations of linguists and educators who were involved. Includes a complete theoretical guide and practical handbook for developing bilingual school programs among minority groups.

Evaluation
	Is an excellent resource and is a very helpful and complete book for those interested in bilingual education.
