Canada Institute of Linguistics (CanIL)

CanIL offers a full range of SIL courses year round for undergraduate and graduate credit. These can be transferred into many degree programs across North America or taken as part of three programs offered at CanIL. B.A. and M.A. degrees in Linguistics are offered through Trinity Western University (TWU). A Masters in Applied Linguistics and Exegesis is offered through ACTS Seminaries. CanIL faculty have excellent qualifications and field experience. CanIL provides the Linguistics Department for TWU, a highly ranked private university in Canada.
CanIL and Oregon SIL have merged their summer programs beginning summer of 2008. Students may now attend subsequent summers at CanIL to complete SIL pre-field training. Recreational opportunities are less than an hour away including the Pacific coast and mountains.
The summer and degree programs at CanIL focus on strong community, mentorship and training trainers. Teaching assistant positions are available to those qualified. Generous financial aid is also available.
Academics
The primary language of instruction for this program is English.
